Creators & affiliates
See what your LoudCrowd creators cost on every order
LoudCrowd tags every order it attributes to a creator. MerchantFlow reads that tag, deducts the commission you set from the order's profit and shows creator commissions as their own line on your P&L.
LoudCrowd runs creator, affiliate and ambassador programs for brands: creators share links and codes, and LoudCrowd attributes the resulting Shopify orders to them. What you pay those creators is tracked in LoudCrowd. Your profit reporting only sees the sale, so creator-driven orders look more profitable than they are until the payout leaves your account.
LoudCrowd now marks every attributed order in Shopify with a LoudCrowd tag, plus LoudCrowd-Link or LoudCrowd-Code depending on how the order was attributed. That tag is all MerchantFlow needs. A commission rule on it charges your creator rate against each tagged order's net product revenue, keeps the charge in step with refunds and cancellations, and reports the total next to your other variable costs.
What it syncs
The LoudCrowd, LoudCrowd-Link and LoudCrowd-Code tags on your synced Shopify orders
Net product revenue per order, after discounts and refunds, excluding shipping
Refunds and cancellations, which LoudCrowd still tags and MerchantFlow uses to reduce or remove the commission
Product tax, excluded from the commission basis unless you choose to include it
The commission per order and per rule, written into your P&L history
What you get
Creator commission inside order profit
Each LoudCrowd order's margin has the creator's commission taken off, on the order list, the order detail page and in product and customer profit.
One rule for every attribution type
Link, code and manually attributed orders all carry the LoudCrowd tag, so a single rule on it covers the whole program. Split link and code orders into separate rules only if you pay them differently.
A Commissions line on your P&L
Commissions sit in contribution margin beside payment fees and ad spend, with a breakdown by rule, so you can judge the program on the profit it leaves rather than the revenue it claims.
Refunds handled for you
A partial refund reduces a percentage commission in proportion, and a cancellation removes it, on the next sync after Shopify records the change.

How it connects
Make sure LoudCrowd is tagging
Open a recent creator order in your Shopify admin and look for the LoudCrowd tag. If it is missing, update the LoudCrowd app or reconnect your store in LoudCrowd, which turns tagging on.
Start from the LoudCrowd template
In MerchantFlow, open Settings > Commissions and pick LoudCrowd. The tag is filled in for you; set the commission your creators earn and preview it on your recent orders.
Commissions apply automatically
Tagged history is recalculated in the background, and every new LoudCrowd order is charged as it syncs.
How teams use it
A creator program is worth keeping when the orders it drives still make money after the creator is paid. LoudCrowd shows attributed revenue and earnings, and Shopify shows the sale, but neither shows the margin left on a single creator order once product cost, fees, ad spend and commission are all counted.
- Compare contribution margin with and without creator commissions for any period.
- Track commission as a share of net revenue as you change creator rates or bring on new creators.
- Check that refunded and cancelled creator orders have had their commission reduced or removed.
- Put LoudCrowd beside your affiliate apps in one breakdown, each charged only on the orders it drove.
Good to know
Older orders carry no tag
LoudCrowd only tags orders attributed after tagging was switched on, so a rule cannot find earlier creator orders. Record commission you paid before that point as an expense for those months if you want it in the P&L.
The rate comes from your rule
MerchantFlow does not read LoudCrowd's earnings ledger. Each tagged order is charged at the rate you set, so keep the rule in step with your creator agreements and record bonuses or one-off payments as expenses.
Reward orders are not tagged
Free-product reward orders do not carry the LoudCrowd tag, so they are never charged commission. Their product cost still counts like any other order.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to connect my LoudCrowd account?
No. MerchantFlow reads the order tag on your synced Shopify orders, so there is no LoudCrowd login or API key to share. You only need your Shopify store connected.
Which tag should the rule use?
Use LoudCrowd, which every attributed order carries. LoudCrowd-Link and LoudCrowd-Code are added on top to show how the order was attributed, so use them only if you pay link and code orders at different rates.
How is the commission calculated?
A percentage rule charges its rate on net product revenue: the subtotal after discounts, less refunds, excluding shipping and, by default, tax. A fixed rule charges the same amount on every tagged order in your store currency.
What if an order is also tagged by another partner app?
Only the highest matching rule in your list is charged, so one order is never paid out twice. Mark a rule as stacking only when a second charge on the same order is genuine.
Which plans include this?
Commission rules are available on every MerchantFlow plan.
