Count SATHI affiliate commissions in every order's profit

SATHI tags every order an affiliate drives with SATHI-ORDER, with no setup. MerchantFlow reads that tag, deducts your commission from the order's profit and shows it as a separate P&L line.

SATHI is an affiliate marketing platform for Shopify brands, with tiered commissions, rewards and bonuses for the affiliates who send customers your way. What an affiliate earns is tracked in SATHI. In Shopify the order looks like any other sale, so your margin on affiliate orders is overstated until the payout is counted.

SATHI marks the orders it attributes to an affiliate with a SATHI-ORDER tag, automatically and without any setup on your side. That makes it the simplest partner to bring in: start from the SATHI template, set your commission, and MerchantFlow charges it on every tagged order, past and future, keeping the charge in step with refunds and cancellations.

What it syncs

The SATHI-ORDER tag on your synced Shopify orders

Net product revenue per order, after discounts and refunds, excluding shipping

Refunds and cancellations, which reduce or remove the commission

Product tax, excluded from the commission basis unless you choose to include it

The commission per order and per rule, written into your P&L history

What you get

Affiliate commission inside order profit

Each SATHI order's margin has the affiliate's commission taken off, on the order list, the order detail page and in product and customer profit.

No setup in SATHI

SATHI writes the tag automatically, so there is nothing to switch on before you create the rule, and orders it tagged before you joined MerchantFlow are recalculated too.

Ambassador sends left out

Product sent to ambassadors carries SATHI-AMBASSADOR instead. It is a gift, not a sale, so the template does not match it and no commission is charged.

A Commissions line on your P&L

Commissions sit in contribution margin beside payment fees and ad spend, with a breakdown by rule, so you can judge the program on the profit it leaves rather than the revenue it claims.

How it connects

01

Check an affiliate order

Open a recent affiliate order in your Shopify admin and confirm it carries the SATHI-ORDER tag.

02

Start from the SATHI template

In MerchantFlow, open Settings > Commissions and pick SATHI. The tag is filled in; set your commission rate and preview it on recent orders.

03

Commissions apply automatically

Tagged history is recalculated in the background, and every new SATHI order is charged as it syncs.

How teams use it

An affiliate program earns its place when the orders it drives still make money after the affiliate is paid. With the commission on the order, that becomes a margin you can read for any period instead of a sum across two dashboards.

  • Compare margin on SATHI orders with your store average, after commission.
  • Track commission as a share of net revenue as you adjust tiers and bonuses.
  • If your SATHI plan also charges a share of affiliate revenue, add it as a second, stacking rule on the same tag.
  • Check that refunded affiliate orders have had their commission reduced or removed.

Good to know

One tag for every affiliate

SATHI-ORDER does not identify the affiliate, so one rule charges the same rate on every SATHI order. Set it to your typical rate and record tier bonuses as expenses.

Your rule sets the rate

MerchantFlow does not read SATHI's payout records. Keep the rule in step with your commission settings, and change it when your rates change so history is recalculated.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect my SATHI account?

No. MerchantFlow reads the SATHI-ORDER tag on your synced Shopify orders, so there is no SATHI login or API key to share.

Are ambassador orders charged?

No. SATHI marks product sent to ambassadors with SATHI-AMBASSADOR, which the rule does not match.

What happens when an affiliate order is refunded?

A partial refund reduces a percentage commission in proportion, and a full refund or cancellation removes it, on the next sync.

How is the commission calculated?

A percentage rule charges its rate on net product revenue: the subtotal after discounts, less refunds, excluding shipping and, by default, tax. A fixed rule charges the same amount on every tagged order in your store currency.

Which plans include this?

Commission rules are available on every MerchantFlow plan.
