Charge Superfiliate commissions only on approved orders
Superfiliate tags each order it tracks with its conversion status. MerchantFlow charges your creator commission on the approved ones, deducts it from order profit and shows it as its own P&L line.
Superfiliate runs creator and referral programs across Shopify, Meta Partnership Ads and TikTok Shop, and rewards creators for the purchases made with their codes. Not every referred order earns a reward. Superfiliate checks each one against your program's requirements first, so an order can sit as pending for a while before it is approved or rejected.
That status is written to the order in Shopify as a tag, one at a time: Superfiliate conversion pending, approved, rejected, manually approved or manual rejected. MerchantFlow's Superfiliate rule keys on the two approved states. A pending order costs nothing yet. When Superfiliate approves it the tag changes, Shopify marks the order as updated, and the commission appears in your profit on the next sync. A later rejection takes it out again.
What it syncs
The Superfiliate conversion status tag on each synced Shopify order, including changes after the order was placed
Net product revenue per order, after discounts and refunds, excluding shipping
Refunds and cancellations, which reduce or remove the commission
Product tax, which you can include in the basis if your Superfiliate rewards include it
The commission per order and per rule, written into your P&L history
What you get
Commission only where Superfiliate pays it
The rule matches approved and manually approved conversions, so pending and rejected orders are never charged.
Status changes followed automatically
When Superfiliate approves or rejects an order its tag changes in Shopify. MerchantFlow picks up the new tag on the next sync and adds or removes the commission.
Room for the success fee
Superfiliate also charges brands a success fee on approved conversions. Add it as a second rule on the same tags, marked to stack, and both costs land on the same orders.
A Commissions line on your P&L
Commissions sit in contribution margin beside payment fees and ad spend, with a breakdown by rule, so you can judge the program on the profit it leaves rather than the revenue it claims.
What this unlocks
Profit after creator rewards
Contribution margin and net profit with Superfiliate commissions already deducted, for any date range.
Program cost as a share of revenue
Creator commission plus success fee as a percentage of net revenue, month by month.
Approved order margin
The margin left on approved Superfiliate orders after product cost, fees, ad spend and commission.

How it connects
Check the status tags
Open a recent Superfiliate order in your Shopify admin and look for a tag such as Superfiliate conversion approved. If none appear, give Superfiliate permission to edit orders.
Start from the Superfiliate template
In MerchantFlow, open Settings > Commissions and pick Superfiliate. Both approved tags are filled in; set your creator reward rate and preview it on recent orders.
Approvals flow through
History is recalculated in the background, and from then on each order is charged when Superfiliate approves it.
Good to know
Pending orders show no commission yet
Recent orders may still be pending in Superfiliate, so the latest days can look slightly more profitable until approvals arrive. The figures settle as the tags change.
Match your reward basis
Superfiliate rewards can optionally include shipping or tax. MerchantFlow charges on net product revenue, excluding shipping. Include tax in the rule if your rewards do, and adjust the rate if your rewards include shipping.
Gifting tags are not sales
Superfiliate's seeding and gifting tags mark free product, not commissionable sales, and the template leaves them out. Keep them out of any rule you build by hand.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to connect my Superfiliate account?
No. MerchantFlow reads the tags Superfiliate already writes to your Shopify orders. You only need your Shopify store connected, and Superfiliate needs permission to edit orders so the tags appear.
Why are pending orders not charged?
Superfiliate only rewards conversions that meet your program's requirements. Charging pending orders would overstate the cost and need correcting whenever one is rejected.
What happens if Superfiliate rejects an order after approving it?
The approved tag is replaced by a rejected one, so the order no longer matches the rule. On the next sync its commission is removed and the P&L is updated.
How is the commission calculated?
A percentage rule charges its rate on net product revenue: the subtotal after discounts, less refunds, excluding shipping and, by default, tax. A fixed rule charges the same amount on every tagged order in your store currency.
Which plans include this?
Commission rules are available on every MerchantFlow plan.
