Connect CJ Dropshipping to Claude and ChatGPT
Dropshipping margins live or die on postage. MerchantFlow pulls your CJ shipping cost onto the order it belongs to, joins it to your ad spend and your own product costs, and lets your AI tell you which SKUs are actually worth running.
What you can ask once it is connected
“Which products can I afford to scale on ads?”
Four SKUs hold contribution margin above 35% after cost of goods, postage and fees, giving break-even ROAS below 2.9x. Two of those are already above 4x on Meta and have headroom. Two other SKUs sit below their 2.4x break-even and lose money on every paid order.

What CJ Dropshipping alone cannot tell you
Connecting an AI directly to CJ Dropshipping is genuinely useful, and for some questions it is all you need. It stops being enough the moment the question involves money you spent somewhere else.
- Advertising spend against the products CJ fulfilled
- Which SKUs stop being profitable once postage is counted
- How shipping cost varies by destination on the same product
- Refunds and their effect on the true economics of a winning product
What MerchantFlow adds
- Per-order postage cost from CJ applied to the order it belongs to, in USD as CJ reports it
- Orders matched on the platform order id rather than CJ's own order number, which is unrelated for Shopify-app orders
- A two-pass lookup that falls back to paged enumeration when a direct match fails, so late-created orders are still found
- Split sourcing supported: CJ can run alongside a warehouse 3PL, and each order is costed by whichever provider fulfilled it
CJ reports a product cost as well as postage, but MerchantFlow currently uses only the postage figure, which lands in fulfilment cost. Your cost of goods comes from your own COGS records, not from CJ. Automatic product-cost sync from CJ is not available yet, so do not expect landed cost to populate itself.

Can it change anything in CJ Dropshipping?
No. The connection is read-only and no write access exists to grant. Your AI can read figures and reason about them; it cannot create, edit, pause or delete anything.
Will the numbers match my dashboard?
Yes. Your AI calls the same calculations the MerchantFlow dashboard uses, so the same question over the same period returns the same figure in both places.
